Alycia Sumlin-Lyrse is the owner and CEO of Live In Fit. Alycia was born and raised in California. Fitness has always been a part of her lifestyle. During college, she was an athlete and team leader for her basketball team. Alycia understands the importance of fitness and believes fitness is essential for a long and healthy life. Alycia has a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Boise State University. Alycia played collegiate basketball at Boise State University, where she earned the Big Sky Outstanding Freshman honors.
Alycia has been married for 7 years and the mother of two children. After Alycia had her second child, she struggled to stay motivated and get back into shape. She decided to create workouts not only to train the body, but to maintain motivation through the transformation process. Alycia understands the balance needed in striving to maintain a strong level of health and fitness while caring for a family. From personal experience, she learned how day-to-day challenges play into our self-improvement process, and she now brings this concept to her clients in a safe and controlled manner.
Alycia has worked in the Physical Educational Department at Cypress Community College for seven years. Alycia is an assistant basketball coach and she teaches step aerobics, core training, power & strength training, and fitness training. Alycia is one of the most requested instructors. While working with Cypress Women’s Basketball Team for the past seven years, they were State Champions in 2005, and in 2006, 2008 Conference Champions. Before working as a women’s basketball coach at Cypress Community College, Alycia held her own basketball camp for under privileged girls.
Alycia decided to branch out and take her expertise to create boot camps, circuit training, to the public in Southern California. Her passion for fitness has led her to pursue fitness training on a new level. For the past 3 years, Alycia has continued to extend her knowledge of health, nutrition, and fitness by constantly continuing her education. She is also CPR certified and Certified Boot Camp and Group fitness instructor. She is dedicated to helping each and everyone of her clients capture their fitness goals through proper training, form, and nutrition. She strives to empower people to believe in their potential and in their ability to reach their goals and is a firm believer that fitness is for everyone and it’s never too late to get started! Phillip "Coach Dav" Davenport is a Certified Personal Trainer with over 10 years experience in training Elite athletes in the SoCal area. Coach Dav was an assistant Women"s Basketball coach at Cypress Community College for 7 years and currently is a basketball instructor at the school's Continuing Education Department.
Coach Dav played collegiate football at Central State University in Wilberforce,Ohio while majoring in Phyiscal Education. He has six daughters that work, live and go to school in Ohio.
Joey Lopez is a certified personal trainer with about 8 years coaching and training experience. His first experience working with fitness includes coaching high school cross country and track & field athletes. He has since shifted into more mainstream fitness with an emphasis on weight loss yet still holds true to his athlete training philosophies.
Originally from Oceanside, CA Joey made his way to Long Beach for education and is now studying Kinesiology at California State University Long Beach and hopes to pursue a Masters program. He loves to stay active by playing different sports and participating in many different outdoor activities. Some of his favorites are soccer, football, running, backpacking and kayaking.
Joey believes “Physical fitness is the foundation for all mental, emotional and spiritual strength and creativity”.
Jacqueline Mc Gee has been in the fitness industry for over fifteen years and was born and raised in Southern California. She completed her Associate of Science degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1988. She is ACE and AFAA certified. Currently, Jacqueline is studying for the ACE (American Counsel on Exercise) Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant Certification.
Before joining Live In Fit, Jacqueline worked as Facility Nurse at Phoenix House, a drug rehabilitation facility for at-risk adolescents and young adults. She has also been involved with various senior wellness programs.
Recently, Jacqueline started Be Well Fitness and Nutritional Program, a new project working with local churches to encourage their older parishioners to become more active, decreasing the high incidence of type-2 diabetes, cholesterol and other chronic diseases in higher risk communities.
Jacqueline enjoys horseback riding, skiing, biking, swimming, and Zumba Fitness. Her only son is grown so she has more time to cheer-on her nieces & nephews at their soccer games and other events. Jacqueline is actively involved with her church.
